Description
Nine trial trenches were excavated to inform the proposed construction of a new rugby club on land at Drain Bank North, Spalding. A series of regularly spaced, parallel ditches, typical of a post-medieval dyling system, were recorded across the site. Although no dating material was recovered, two distinct phases of dyling construction could be determined, with the later phase according well with the 19th century field arrangement. {1}{2}
