A programme of archaeological monitoring and recording was conducted during groundworks for new residential development on land to the rear of 27 High Street, Castle Bytham. No archaeological features were recorded during the investigation, although a single sherd of 13th to mid 14th century medieval pottery was recovered from a former plough soil deposit. {1}{2}
