Description

An archaeological watching brief was undertaken during the groundworks for student flats and mixed-use retail development on land at St. Mark's Street and Brayford Wharf ('The Junxion'), Lincoln. The groundworks exposed a series of 19th to 20th century demolition deposits. A pit excavated to assess diesel contamination revealed an undated peat horizon and a series of riverine deposits; typical of the known stratigraphy of the area {1} {2}
