Full Description

A minimum of three sherds of Roman greyware pottery and possible Roman tile fragments found on the recreation ground at Julian Bower, Louth. {1} A single sherd of Roman grey ware vessel was retrieved from the topsoil in trench 1 during trial trenching. In addition a single flake of Roman brick in a light orange fine sandy fabric was retrieved from trench 2. {2}{3} A small sherd of Roman grey ware pottery was also later found on the site by a local resident. {4}
