Full Description

Late Victorian red-brick school building, largely intact and present on both the 1887 map and the 1906 map. {1}{2}{3} Records in the Lincolnshire Archives suggest that the school was opened on the 4th February 1878 by the Glentham and Caenby United District School Board, which was formed in 1876. It became Glentham Council School in 1903, then Glentham County Primary School in 1947 before finally becoming the Glentham County School from 1952 onwards. Senior children were transferred to Market Rasen Secondary Modern School from September 1946. The school was closed on the 23rd July 1971, with the children transferred to Hemswell RAF school. {4}
