The shell of this building is undoubtably mid-to-late Victorian but it has been modified substantially in the 21st Century to form a strange type of hybrid residence. {1} White's 1856 Directory of Lincolnshire states that the school was built on the site of the 'old vicarage house' in 1855 (this could suggest that a portion of this building may be even older) and a Mrs. Sanderson is listed as the local schoolmistress. {2} There is surprisingly little information available in the Lincolnshire Archives, with the exception of a Searby cum Owmby School Managers Report from 1860, which works to corroborate the evidence given in White's. {3} The building is present on both the 1887 and 1907 maps of Searby cum Owmby and is marked as a school on both. {4}{5} By 1972, the building is no longer marked as being a school. However, due to the difficulty involved in accessing sources, it is impossible to determine exactly when it was decomissioned. Due to the mass reorganisation of Lincolnshire's primary education in the late 1960s, it was conceivably at this point. {6}
