Full Description

The core of this building is mid-Victorian and there is a large modern (late 20th-early 21st Century) extensiont to the rear of the building. {1} White's 1856 Directory of Lincolnshire has been consulted and there is no mention of a school. {2} Records from the Lincolnshire archives suggest that the school was built in 1862 and was known as Snitterby National School until at least 1903. {3} The school is present on both the 1887 and 1906 Ordnance survey maps of Snitterby and is marked as a school on both. {4}{5} Senior pupils were transferred to Bishop Norton CE School and Waddingham Council School from May 1916. The school was closed on 29 July 1932, with the children transferred to Waddingham Council School. {6}
