Full Description

This is a rather fetiching example of mid-Victorian neo-gothic architecture in red brick. {1} White's 1856 Directory of Lincolnshire refers to a 'small school, supported by subscription', which presumably refers to this school. {2} This building is present and marked as a school on both the 1887 and the 1906 Ordnance Survey map of Walesby. {3}{4} Documentation from the Lincolnshire archives states that the school was opened as a National School in 1854. Senior children were transferred to the new Market Rasen Senior Council School from 1937. The school was closed on 23 July 1965, with the children transferred to Tealby School. {5}
