Full Description

The North Thoresby Free School was established in 1676 and a new school building was built about 1850 with a school master's house. The site of the original school of 1676 is not known. {1} This school became a Board School in 1886, as the North Thoresby Board School, it had students from North Thoresby, Grainsby and Waithe. {2} The Victorian school is present on the 1887 and the 1905 maps. {3}{4} The building is of red brick with yellow brick dressings and has the original slate roof. {5}
