Full Description

A former fish or eel trap has been identified in this area of Frampton Marsh, situated within a watercourse that flows into the adjacent Boston Haven. The trap was constructed by weaving a large number of small wooden sticks between larger wooden uprights, creating a barrier behind which fish or eels would be trapped by a retreating tide. The exact date of construction is unknown, although a medieval or post-medieval date might be more likely, given the organic nature of the materials used in its construction. {1}
