PRN 13428
During the excavation of trial trenches off Butterwick Road, a number of post medieval features were identified. These included a pit containing charcoal and early post medieval pottery, dating from the late 15th to mid 16th century, and a sub-rectangular pit of the same date.{1}{2}
A watching brief was carried out further to the east, adjacent to Church Road (TF 3758 4388), in 1992. Ditches, pits and a pond were recorded, which date to the 14th to the 17th century.{3}
