A long two-storey building beside a yard. Extended from Silver Street to Mitre Lane. House across the yard. Later it became the 'Mason's Arms' public house. The original building was 42 feet by 21 feet. It was later extended to 66 feet. A small coach house and stable are to the north. The house and yard were purchased by George Hartley on 29 November 1834. He erected works to produce pipe tobacco and snuff. The site apparently ceased production before 1861. It became a public house by 1885. The building was demolished in the 1980s. {1}
