Full Description

RB greyware reported, to H Healey in 1965 by B Tyrell. From area of Cowbit Wash being ploughed for first time 1964-1965. Good scatter of RB pottery over area. The site lies within the area of cropmarks 20314. {1}{2} ROMAN FINDS FROM TF 26731742 (COW3 39), WHICH HAS IRON AGE ORIGINS, INCLUDE POTTERY, ANIMAL BONE, 2 QUERN FRAGMENTS AND ABUNDANT OYSTER, COCKLE AND MUSSEL. DEEPER PLOUGHING HAS REVEALED LINES OF OCCUPATION SOIL AND MANY FRESHLY BROKEN SHERDS. {3}, HTM 3M
