Full Description

PRN 43167 Pre-Roman rectangular ditched enclosure and faint circular enclosure was possibly picked up by one of the evaluation trenches. A scatter of worked flint (some possibly Bronze Age) was recorded. {1} A watching brief in 1997 recorded a ditch, although undated it may be associated with a prehistoric ditch found during earlier evaluation. It may also be significant that it lies immediately west of a naturally filled depression, which is possibly a pool; the ditches may have served to drain boggy ground around the periphery of the pool. {2}{3}
