Full Description

A GILT-BRONZE DECORATED ROUNDEL FOUND ON THE SITE OF ST HELEN'S CHURCH. A SLIGHTLY CONVEX DISC OF BRONZE 45-47CM IN DIAMETER, DECORATED WITH CHIP- CARVED INTERLACE OF FIGURES-OF-EIGHT, AND ORIGINALLY GILDED. THE REVERSE HAS FOUR SMALL RIVETS FOR ATTACHMENT. A SMALL HOLE NEAR THE EDGE SUGGESTS THAT IT MAY HAVE BEEN USED AS A PENDANT. PROBABLY OF C8 DATE. {1}~, HTM 43.2M
