This record includes the former record PRN52274 which has been deleted.
In 1607 to 1608, Sir Thomas Monson's principal residence was at Burton, where he had 'orchards, gardines and scyte of the hall or mannor house' extending to over 6 acres. Garden features include a ha ha. This house must have been recently created, perhaps on an earlier manorial site. {1}{2}{3}
