Full Description
POSSIBLE LONG BARROW/MORTUARY ENCLOSURE RECORDED BY RECONNAISSANCE IN 1995. {1} THIS LONG BARROW IS SITUATED ON THE UPPER VALLEY SLOPE, ON THE NORTH SIDE OF THE VALLEY OF THE WAITHE BECK. IT IS ALIGNED SE-NW, AND ITS LONG AXIS TRAVERSES THE CONTOURS. IT IS A TRAPEZIFORM ENCLOSURE WITH STRAIGHT TERMINALS. A LINE OF VARIABLE STRENGTH IS VISIBLE ON THE INTERIOR AT THE BROADER SOUTH END, AND MAY REPRESENT A MARKING-OUT DITCH. {2}, LENGTH 74M, WIDTH 26M, HTM 100M
