Full Description
A small late 18th century house which was enlarged in 1840 to 1845 by William Railton for the Ecclesiastical Commissioners who bought the estate as a palace for the Bishops of Lincoln which it remained until 1888. The stables are late eighteenth century and altered by Railton. The hall is now a college. {1}
Riseholme Hall (Lindsey College of Agriculture ) is a Grade II listed former country house which is now the College of Agriculture. It was built in the early 18th century and then refaced and extended in 1840 by William Railton in Italianate style. The Hall was constructed of ashlar and render and has hipped slate roofs, five tall ashlar stacks.
