Full Description
PRN 70313
The watching brief revealed a large ditch, running parallel to the present day line of Carholme Road. This ditch may have served a boundary or drainage function. A second ditch yielded a late Roman bowl and a fine glass jug. A copper alloy ring was found close to the bowl which could be a suspension ring, suggesting that this may be a hanging bowl. The double handled glass jug lay next to it, both artefacts date to the 4th-5th centuries. {1}{2}
