Full Description
PRN 62629
During a watching brief in 2001 and 2002, features were recovered which predated an eighteenth century subsoil. A fragment of ceramic building material from one of the features was tentatively dated to the medieval period and it is therefore thought that these features are of probable medieval date. Spatially a division in landuse is apparent, with ditches and north/south aligned ridge and furrow located in the southern part of the site, while probable refuse pits are located in the northern part of the site, one of which contained possible hearth rakings. Four sherds of thirteenth to fifteenth century pottery were recovered, with the sherds linking in twos. {1}{2}
