Full Description

PRN 36516 An archaeological watching brief was undertaken on land between Nos. 32 to 38 Wharf Road, Stamford to monitor the excavation of groundworks for an extension to commercial premises. The watching brief identified two parallel limestone walls that may be the remains of a substantial building, which may have been constructed in the 17th century as attested by pottery and other finds of this date. The building was demolished some time in the early 19th century {1}{2}
