Full Description
Built in 1935, two storeys high built in brick. Blocking course raised in the centre with inscription ' Wesley Chapel 1935'. For the full description and the legal address of this listed building please refer to the appropriate List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest. {1}
The walls are of brown brick with stone dressings. The front wall has six bays with entrances in slightly projecting penultimate bays and narrow end bays. It has two tiers of round arched windows separated by a platband, with conjoined cills to the upper windows and panels with a swag ornament below. A parapet above the middle bay carries the denominational name and date in raised letters. The interior was completely gutted and refitted in 1977. {2}{3}{4}

This chapel was built to seat 1600 people and replaced an earlier chapel on the site, built in 1808. Several alterations were made to the building; firstly in 1872, when the 'Central Hall' was built, and in 1912, when a further schoolroom was added. {6}{7}
