The Methodist chapel, located on Private Lane, was built in 1864, and belonged to the Free Methodists. It seems that it replaced a chapel located close by on Front Street, which was built by the Wesleyans, but belonged to the Free Methodists by 1856. It is built of gault brick with red and white brick and ashlar dressings.
