Full Description

PRN 63663 153 trial trenches were excavated on the proposed route of the Lincoln Eastern Bypass. A pit containing a fragment of Roman tile and a gully containing 15 sherds of Roman pottery were revealed. A further 9 sherds of Roman pottery and 2 sherds of Samian pottery were unstratified. {1}{2} Fieldwalking was undertaken on the proposed route of the Lincoln Eastern Bypass. 15 sherds of Romano-British pottery were uncovered. They were mainly extremely abraded, but 3 sherds could be dated to the 3rd century. {3}{4} Roman pottery and ceramic building material was recovered during fieldwalking along the route of the Lincoln Eastern Bypass by Archaeological Project Services in November 2008. {5}{6} Trial trenching was undertaken by Archaeological project Services in 2008 along the proposed route of the Lincoln Eastern Bypass. A ditch containing a sherd of Roman pottery was found in Parcel V. {7}{8}
