Full Description
Trial trenching on a proposed development site ('Strelizia') on Michaelgate revealed evidence for Roman acitivity. The remains included soil layers which may represent upper pit fills. A rubbly deposit was also encountered. The Roman finds assemblage included twenty-two sherds of pottery, mostly third and fourth century, and a brick fragment. {1}{2}
A watching brief in 2007, during pile drilling at Stelizia, Michaelgate, Lincoln, revealed an upstanding Roman wall and associated occupation layers, containing 138 sherds of Roman pottery. {3}{4}
