An archaeological watching brief was undertaken during groundworks at 31 High Street, Gosberton. The watching brief monitored the removal of topsoil and the excavation of foundation trenches for two new dwellings. The work revelead a sequence of post-medieval deposits, including a wall remnant and a brick floor.The floor and wall remnant appear to date to the 19th century, probably related to buildings that formerly stood at the site until their recent demolition{. Finds included a range of 18th to 20th century pottery, brick, tile, glass and clay pipe together with a small assemblage of animal bone.{1}{2}
