Full Description
PRN 70494
Trial trenching at Brayford Wharf North revealed a scatter of features attributed to the Roman period as well as a reasonably large assemblage of Roman pottery, much of it redeposited. The features include several ditches as well as gullies and post holes. These do no form any coherent pattern, nor do they suggest the type of activity carried out at this site. Whatever the nature of this activity, it does not appear to have been intensive and was not related to waterfront industry or trade. {1}{2}
