PRN 64087 This record is for the school only. For a history of Ashby Hall and its surrounding gardens, see PRN64076. Former village school, Ashby de la Launde, as depicted on the Ordnance Survey County Series (First Edition) map of 1891.{1} This mansion (Ashby Hall), which stands in the village, has an extensive and well-wooded lawn, and has recently been much altered and improved by the Rev.J.W.King, B.D., who supports a school for his poor parishoners.{2} The construction date for the school is not known. Possibly built during the expansion of the Ashby Hall estate by the Rev. J.W.King sometime between 1841 and 1875.{3}
