Full Description

PRN 46734 Geophysical survey was undertaken over approximately 25ha of agricultural land near Kirkstead. Magnetic enhancement located through a magnetic susceptibility survey ha shown areas of possible archaeological activity which when tested through detailed magnetometry indicated a possible rectilinear enclosure towards the northeast of the survey area. This feature, being made up of positive and negative area anomalies, seems to consist of a series of banks and ditches with a smaller set of ditches in its centre.{1} Other positive and negative area anomalies within the survey area may represent archaeological activity on site. However, further investigation is required as these features may equally be of a geological origin.{1}
