The building is of three storeys, built of white painted red brick, and is set within a terrace of similar age, though not of the same build period. Originally built as a house, the building was converted to be used as a public house by the mid 19th century, before further alterations were made to convert the building into a shop. The building has seen some alterations, primarily with the insertion of a shop front and windows in the mid 20th century, although many original and historic elements survive intact. {2}
