Full Description

A hotel dating from the mid 18th century which underwent alterations in the early and mid 19th century. The wing at right angles to the river was added after 1807 and the construction of the new town bridge (qv). The hotel was constructed of red brick and stucco and has a slate roofs. The original White Hart was demolished in the early 19th century for the New Bridge Street; the present building was previously the "Unicorn".
