Witham Tavern Public House. This record inlcudes number 50 Witham Cottage. An early 19th century public house which underwent alterations in the later 19th century. It was constructed of red brick in Flemish bond and has a hipped slate roof with a rear wall stack. The inn was recorded as first licensed in 1765. Presumably there was an earlier building on this site, and would date from the construction of the nearby Grand Sluice.
