Full Description
A late 18th century urn and pedestal which was constructed of limestone ashlar. It is an urn on a square pedestal with a stepped top, decorated with linen swags, wreaths and a band of acanthus leaves with a paterae and domed top. On the east side is an oval cartouche containing an inscription recording John Nelthorpe of Little Grimsby Hall. The urn and pedestal stand on a stone platform which incorporates two late 18th century recumbent slabs to the members of the Nelthorpe family covering a vault beneath.
