Full Description

PRN 38607 [Note - where there is confusion or discrepancy between sources regarding the date of a building, the Royal Commission survey (which is the most detailed and recent) has been taken as the most reliable.] This house was rebuilt in stone and reroofed in the 17th century. Presumably it was previously a timber framed structure similar to the remaining 16th century cross wing, now no. 7 (PRN 37867). The street elevation has modern shop fronts but there are some 17th century windows in the end and rear walls. The roof structure is also 17th century, and the interior contains stone and wood bolection moulded fireplaces. {1} This two storey house dates from the early 18th century [this is probably incorrect - see above]. It is rendered and has a stone slate roof. The ground floor has the remains of small 19th century shop fronts with modern glazing. For the full description and the legal address of this listed building please refer to the appropriate List of Buildings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest. {2}
