Full Description
During trial trenching in April and July 1997 at South Square, Boston, Pre-Construct Archaeology revealed 15th to 18th century pits, brick walls and a brick and flagstone floor in Trench One. Finds associated with these features include pottery sherds and coke fragments. In Trench Two, a garderobe chamber, cellar and brick structure or vat were revealed. These features were associated with 16th century pottery sherds, although the cellar probably dated from the 18th century onwards. {1}{2}
