During archaeological monitoring of a geotechnical trial pit at the rear of the Tower Hotel, Lincoln, in May 2008, an east to west aligned wall footing associated with a north to south aligned robber trench of a former wall were revealed. Two residual fragments of opus signinum (Roman mosaic) were found with the walls and therefore they could have been part of a former Roman building. {1}{2}
