Description

A programme of archaeological monitoring and recording was conducted during the excavation of 13 test pits alonside the River Witham at Boston. A sequence of late post-medieval dumped deposits, relating to the formalisation of the river, were identified in almost all the test pits, along with the remains of a probable wooden-floored structure, thought to relate to 19th century shipbuilding activities. {1}{2}
