Description

An archaeological watching brief was conducted during groundworks for the construction of new dwelling on land adjacent to 193 Belton Lane, near Grantham. A single, large pit of unknown date was the only feature of archaeological significance encountered. Whilst no dateable material was recovered, a fragment of horse bone was identified in the pit's fill, suggesting the feature may have been dug for the burial of an animal, and possibly related to the site's former use as a paddock. {1}{2}
