Abstract/Summary
Report on a programme of archaeological monitoring and recording, conducted during groundworks for the installation of new water pipe services at 1-3 Friars Lane, Lincoln. Extensive late 19th and 20th century disturbance was noted within the area of the service trenches, and no archaeologically significant features or deposits were encountered. A small assemblage of redeposited medieval artefacts was recovered, however, comprising the handles from two Lincoln Glazed ware jugs, dating from the 13th to 15th centuries, and a shaped block of local limestone, that had likely been used as medieval construction material.
